"The Book" started life as a loose leaf binder of legislation, interpretation and cases,
set out in an easy to read format.
It is acknowledged as an important tool for licensing officers, solicitors
and enforcement officers to use on a daily basis for reference in connection
with the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and the Local Government
(Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, and the many other Acts relating to
hackney carriages and private hire vehicle licensing and associated matters.
It is also now only available as a fully searchable adobe.pdf format CD complete with 80+ case law reports, Statutory Instruments and other relevant Circulars and Guides. It is fully updated annually.
